Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Kolkata on a two-day visit on Saturday. During this, West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee also met him. He also lodged his protest against the PM on CAA and NRC. The country’s five iconic museums will be developed on an international standard, beginning with the Indian Museum in Kolkata.
He said that it is very unfortunate that many important chapters were ignored in the history which was written during British rule and even after independence. The Prime Minister while addressing an event at Old Currency Building said that Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore wrote in 1903 that the history of India is not what students study for examinations.
He said that some people came from outside, they killed their relatives, brothers for the sake of the throne. This is not our history. Gurudev himself said this. He said that in this history it is not mentioned what the people of the country are doing. Do they not exist?
